  4. In a wok, add oil. Now add a pinch of asafoetida, cumin, black pepper. Now add all the spices to the paste. Stir fry it till oil comes out. - Now add 2 tsp of water and add bottle gourd and gram dal.
  5. Cook it for a minute. Add water, as required.
